Candidate search

Why nominate a candidate for the 2026 Victorian Election?

At Voices of Deakin, we believe democracy works best when the people of our community – not party bosses or special interests – shape who represents us in Victoria. We’re part of a nationwide Voices movement that’s working to put people-powered politics back into the heart of our system rather than rigid party politics.

Right now, your voice matters. You have the chance to nominate someone you know – or to put your own name forward – as an independent candidate who genuinely reflects the values and priorities of people across the two State Districts of Ringwood and Croydon.

By standing as an independent, a candidate commits to:

  • Prioritise the community over party politics

  • Listen to everyday residents and act on what matters to the community

  • Champion evidence-based solutions to the issues we collectively care about

  • Hold true to community values of fairness, integrity and equality.

We’re seeking a person who can unite and represent our community with courage, integrity and dedication. Find out more about candidate attributes.

If you know someone who holds these qualities and would be a positive, community-focused independent candidate for Ringwood or Croydon, or if that person is you, we want to hear from you.

Please contact us or complete a nomination form.

Be part of a movement for change

Across Australia, communities like ours are showing there’s a better way to do politics – one that puts people at the centre, not party interests. That’s what Voices of Deakin is about, and we’d love for you to join us.
